tIDE & XNA - Beginner - Questions/Help (Collision/Tile tracking....)

I recently started using tIDE to make maps for a game. And so far it's great, saves lots of time.
C# or VB are the only two I understand at the moment :P

I'm just unfamiliar with the syntax pretty much, when using xTile references.

I don't know how to refer to Tiles, TileSheets, Layers, Tile Coordinates, and so on.
I know what to type, for the above examples, I just don't know what they mean exactly.

TileSheets contain Tiles. I know that one. A TileSheet can be 1 actual Tile, or multiple.

So, say I want to track Tiles. Maybe something like, get the tile my Sprite is currently on and the four tiles adjacent to it (up,down,left,right). Loop through those and check which ones are passable or not/Solid or Not Solid. Prevent Movement If Solid.

How do I do this?

Which would then lead to: How to use an XNA Rectangle as my sprite, and have it move Tile by Tile. Or would I use an xTile Rectangle?

All in all, I'm not sure how to do much of this. Can anyone help, or link me to some good tutorials that walk through things like Tile Tracking/Collision/Sprite Movement/Transitioning from one map to another? (Unload/Load?)
