I have an issue I am trying to resolve. We have a working web part (C#) that uses the HTML INPUT control to browse to locations on the lan and allows the user to select files to upload. IF the directory is on the SharePoint server (where the
web part is hosted) the code traps the path, stores it to a variable and allows the user to click a button to upload all of the files of that type from that location. IF the directory is off of the SharePoint server file system this throws a access denied
error. Microsoft says this is a security restriction, currently.
Does anyone know of a way around this? Would like to capture the path as described above and then allow the user to click a button and have all of the files of that type (jpg for example) uploaded to a list conrol that the user could then decide if they
wanted to actually upload it to a SharePoint library.
