Ability to Lock Discussions

description

I would like to see added the ability to lock discussions. Because I have many users that just like to tack their new question on to an existing question for whatever reason. I want to discourage this behavior by locking a discussion.

From my point of view this makes perfect sense whenever a question is "answered" or a discussion is "closed". I'd also like to see this one.

Here's a related work item for "Fixed and Locked Posts".

yes, exactly,
we have a kind of support in our community and solved many problems through discussions. Can we kind of hide them so they are not visible by default but can be searched through?

I agree. In the meantime, I've taken to editing the title of my own requests to add [solved] at the end. This should save the time of people who are looking to help and discourage anyone from adding to them, I think.

We just added answer support - do you think we still need a separate control so that a project contributor can lock and discussion that is not being productive?
