Wiki File Attachment Hangs Uploading PNG Image

I'm trying to upload a new .png file to my wiki to replace an old one. I deleted the old .png file, and now as expected I'm getting a "macro" error on my project's home page indicating that the image is missing. However, I can't upload the replacement image - or any other image for that matter...

I see the green "working" dialog pop up, but it just sits there forever. I've been trying for the last 15 minutes or so. I retried several times. It just hangs and the image is not uploaded.

Note that the image is a valid 4KB PNG file. I also tried uploading a 1KB image, but it just hangs.

I'm running IE11 on Windows 8.1 Pro.

I just tried again a couple of times and it's still happening. Here are a few things that I tried:
  • I restarted my web browser. (Note that it forces me to sign in again each time I restart it. I reported this problem to CodePlex a while ago and it was never resolved.)
  • I signed out from my Microsoft account and logged in using my CodePlex account.
  • I signed out, deleted the codeplex cookie and restarted my web browser.
It seems that when I click the Add File (10MB Max) button, it causes a script to run in some kind of loop. It basically hangs the browser tab, making it difficult to even close it.

I tried briefly on another computer (which doesn't have the actual images I need to upload) and it seemed to work on the first try.

I just ran the IE debug tools (F12) and started network tracing before clicking the button to upload my image, and after clicking the button, while the green dialog with the spinning thing and "working..." was showing, the network trace had 0 requests made (though I don't know if that's because it's SSL?). The console was also empty: no JS messages.

I also tried clicking the pause button on the debugger tab but it's not responding. It won't even pause :)

I just ran Fiddler and then pressed the button and it shows absolutely no network traffic, not even SSL requests.

So apparently the JavaScript for your Add File button is broken somehow.

Any ideas how I can get past this problem? Is there any other information that I can provide to you?

This is still happening. I haven't been able to upload any images to CodePlex from my laptop. No ideas?

No, because it only doesn't work on my laptop. I can upload images from my home desktop fine.

Which browser are you using?

Chrome and FF both. when you click add file nothing happens. one of the Project editors tried to post Win8 screen shots using win8 IE I think that would be IE 11 and couldn't so I tried thinking it was a permission level issue and I couldn't.

I log in with my Microsoft account, not my old CodePlex account. Which do you use?

Also, did you try clearing your cookies/temp files?

I had the same problem attaching a 12K zip file to the Documentation page; however, was able to upload a 13MB MSI file to a release page just fine. My system is running Win7 SP1 with IE11.

The only way I was able to get the 12K zip to upload was to add to Compatibility View Settings.

I am using Chrome. I am able to upload the image.
After you have uploaded the image, obtain the URL of the image

and add it into the page like this:
<img src=";DownloadId=1474547" alt="" width="500" height="471" />
