Adding CodePlex project source to Ohloh

Nov 9, 2011 at 4:06 PM

I'm trying to "Add a new source code enlistment" to project GADS/OS on Ohloh.

When I enter the URL "https://GADSOS.svn.codeplex.com/svn" without a username or password, I get "An error occured connecting to the server. Check the URL, username, and password."

I also tried "https://gadsos.svn.codeplex.com/svn" - all lower case - since some thought that that could be the problem and I got same error message.

The Ohloh support folks have also tried to add it and they too cannot make it work.

I got the URL directly from CodePlex so it should be okay.

Looks like this one is strictly a username/password issue. I really don't want to enter a username/PW on Ohloh since they will be public.

Can I get a read-only CodePlex SVN login/password that could be semi-public or allow anonymous read-only access to repository on CodePlex?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

I sent an email to CodePlex support and this is their reply:

"Sorry about the trouble, anonymous access to https://GADSOS.svn.codeplex.com/svn works now. There was a configuration issue with your project that I fixed."

I also had to put it in on Ohloh as all lowercase https://gadsos.svn.codeplex.com/svn in order for it to work, but it now works.

Many thanks to ssnow-blackduck at Ohloh and the excellent support from the CodePlex/Microsoft team.
