How to embed a YouTube video into the Project Description?

Aug 1, 2010 at 7:21 PM

I'd like to embed a YouTube video into the Project Description on the Home tab.  So I go to edit the Project Description, switch to Html Markup, then bring up the Insert HTML dialog.  I paste the embed from YouTube, do the Insert, Save, etc...  But the site escapes all embed code and treats it as text.

What am I missing?

The only way to embed videos in your project pages is to use the Wiki markup format with the following macro:

{video:url=http://www.youtube.com?xxxxxxxx,type=YouTube}

Hope that helps,

I did find this macro in another posting.  However, it creates a really small YouTube container.  I'd like the macro to be able to have a YouTube container of my choice (for instance a 720p video).  Is there an option?

But a better solution would be to be allowed to simply enter the Embed code provided with the YouTube video.

You can set the height/width of the video (info here), but unless you have a direct link to the HQ video, it'll display in YouTube's default.

Thanks, that did the trick.

Hi,

Can we expect more types in the future. I just entered the following:

{video:url=http://vimeo.com/14072554,type=Vimeo}

and got an error:

Cannot resolve video macro, invalid parameter 'type'.

Can we have a Vimeo type please?

Hi jamiet,

Vimeo will be a supported type in our Sept release. Thanks for the suggestion.
